I love trees, as you have probably already guessed if you have been looking at a lot of my other work. Each is so unique and interesting that I get lost for long periods of time studying them. This mask is a portrait of one of the old cedar trees who grow in my yard. Each of them has so much character and wonderful textures and shapes that I had to sculpt the oldest and gnarliest of them as a mask. This tree inspired me to create a Cedar Shaman character for my ongoing series of people and creatures who inhabit the Wyrdlands. To bring about the highest level of this mask, I have partnered with A Critter's Chance, Inc. who supplies me with ethically sourced feathers. When you purchase the Leather, Feather, Bone level of mask, 10% of the sale price will be donated to this non-profit organization to help fund the care of dozens of injured and abandoned animals. The mask is made of durable polyurethane rubber with EVA foam padding on the inside and a wide, hook and loop strap in the back. I wore my full headdress version at a Renaissance Festival in 2019 and it was very comfortable for extended periods of time. I offer many different finishes for this piece and will update pictures of the different types as I create them. In addition to the basic paint schemes, I offer a Deluxe version and a Leather, Feather, Bone version. I will be creating customized versions of these masks with antlers and additional sculptured elements occasionally. The Deluxe masks are made individually as one of a kinds and are listed separately, so keep an eye out for them! The Deluxe Version allows you to pick whatever paint scheme you'd like and has patches of imitation lichen and moss attached. The Leather, Feather, Bone Version is the highest level I offer as a standard choice. This option with your choice of paint scheme, the imitation moss and lichen of the Deluxe version, as well as weathered strips of leather that I attach your choice of a combination of several species of pheasant tail feather, European magpie, turkey, or peacock feathers as well as a variety of boar bones. The mask is 14 inches tall, 9 inches wide, and 5 1/2 inches deep. It weighs about 1 1/2 lbs when fully finished. Photographed with the Skull Shoulder Pauldron also available from our shop!
