Miskatonic Bookworm Chrusalis

Another piece for all you H.P. Lovecraft and Giger fans! I’ve always loved the idea of cocoons and chrylises and how creatures can change so much throughout their lifetimes. Metamorphosis is such a strange and crazy thing and I wanted to explore this idea with my bookworms. Wondering what the final shape one of these creatures will take is so interesting to me.

This is the pupa phase in the Miskatonic Bookworm’s life cycle. After decades of feeding on books and absorbing knowledge, this strange beast attaches itself to a shelf on a bookcase in an out of the way part of a library, sheds its caterpillar skin a final time, and forms a hard shell. After a month of change, the adult form emerges. The adult form will be revealed later in 2019!

Another piece for all you H.P. Lovecraft and Giger fans! I've always loved the idea of cocoons and chrysalises and how creatures can change so much throughout their lifetimes. Metamorphosis is such a strange and crazy thing and I wanted to explore this idea with my bookworms. Wondering what the final shape one of these creatures will take is so interesting to me. After a month of change, the adult form emerges. The adult form will be revealed later in 2019! This piece is designed to be hung by the monofilament line I attach to the tops of the piece but looks very good lying on a bookcase or desk so that you can handle it and view it from all sides. These pieces are 9 3/4 inches long, 4 1/2 inches wide, and 4 3/4 inches deep. I roto cast these pieces to keep the weight very low so that they can be hung easily anywhere you'd like. I'm currently offering the yellow/green with red nodules and a blue with orange nodule as standard paint schemes. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me.
